2011 Scholarship Application
For High School Graduates
The BCDI-Seattle Affiliate is awarding up to $ 1,000 in academic scholarships (nonrenewable) for tuition and books to high school graduates who plan to attend an accredited college, university or community college. As advocates for African American children, BCDI is particularly interested in fostering careers in education and early childhood development, but will give other career choices full consideration. Only scholarship recipients will receive feedback regarding the awards.
Qualifications
You must: 1. Be a high school graduating senior planning to attend college in the 2010-2011 academic year; 2. Have a minimum 2.5 G.P.A.; 3. Have a financial need; 4. Demonstrate community involvement; 5. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. 6. Reside in King County. To apply, submit the following materials no later than Friday May 20, 2011. 1. Application Form 2. Transcripts 3. Academic Recommendation (teacher, counselor or principal) 4. Personal Recommendation (other than family member)
