Welcome to the Black Child Development Institute of Seattle (BCDI-Seattle). In 1973, Bunny Wilburn founded BCDI-Seattle. Bunny was and remains a steadfast advocate for all children, with a special devotion to African American children. BCDI-Seattle is an organization of dedicated volunteers. We are part of a network of 42 affiliates, spanning 22 states, that is connected with the National Black Child Development Institute - NBCDI.
The Seattle Affiliate of the National Black Child Development Institute looks into the eyes and lives of African American children and families and advocates for public policy and innovative and progressive efforts to eliminate institutional racism and support positive social change.
