In the summer of 2001; BCDI-Seattle partnered, on an application to the Federal Childrens' Bureau, with UW School of Social Work's Northwest Institute for Children and Families on an application to be selected as the Quality Improvement Center (QIC) on Frontline Child Protective Services in the Northwest (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho). This research grant project utimately resulted in a model program that eliminated disproportionality for African American children, referred for neglect, to the public child welfare system in King County Washington - Culturally Competent Professional Practice [C2P2].
